It was a horrifying experience for the family of Alhaji Umar Maigana as his pregnant wife, Mrs Maigana, was kidnapped in their home at Angwar Dosa area of Kaduna North Local Government of Kaduna State.
It waslearnt that the victim, Mrs Maigana, who was due for delivery last month was abducted in her home by the kidnappers.
A close family source disclosed to newsmen that the victim was induced into forced labour by her abductors, and after delivery, they took away the child and dumped her in the bush to die.
She revealed that “the victim was left in the bush in pains” as her abductors believed she was already dead.
When contacted for more information, the husband of the victim, Alhaji Umar Maigana, told newsmen that he preferred not to talk more on the issue as he has found his wife and that she was recuperating.
In a telephone interview with Police Public Relations Officer, Yakubu Sabo Abubakar, he told newsmen that the Kaduna Police Command was not aware of such case.
He claimed that the only kidnap case before them was that of Mrs Talatu, a pastor's wife who was kidnapped, but has been released by her abductors.
Some residents of the state who spoke to Independent said they fear for their lives.
According to Bulus Kabruk, “Our beloved Kaduna has become a den of kidnappers.
“This kidnapping is alien to us here in this state. We cannot say this is when this dastardly act started, it is so very unfortunate.
“There is so much mistrust and apprehension and fear of the unknown. The law enforcement agencies must seat up and find a lasting solution to this.”
