Late Mrs Gold Coast Dickson
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has said that the news of the death of the mother of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson came to the members as a rude shock.
The party in a statement signed by its chairman, Hon. Cleopas Moses, and issued on Monday in Yenagoa said the late Mrs Gold Coast Dickson was a woman loved by all who came across her.
While praying for the repose of her soul, the party noted that she will be missed by everyone, especially her children and all those who took her as a mother.
Bayelsa PDP prayed God to grant her immediate family, particularly Gov. Dickson and the people of Toru-Orua in Sagbama Local Government Area the fortitude to bear the great loss
It also called on party members to take a moment and pray for the Dicksons and stand by them at this trying moment.
Meanwhile, Hon. Cleopas has commissioned a multimillion naira sand dredging project in Azagbene communities in Ekekremor Local Government Area executed by a member of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Ogbere.
The Bayelsa PDP Chairman while commissioning the project thanked the lawmaker for putting the interest of his people first, saying the project will positively impact on his constituents.
He expressed satisfaction with the magnitude of the project and stressed that it is only in a party like the PDP that such people-oriented project can be done.
Cleopas used the opportunity to call on all members of the party who are holding different positions at all levels of government to emulate Governor Seriake Dickson by embarking on meaningful projects.
The PDP boss in the state stated that as other elections are getting close the party will not give its ticket to representatives who failed to deliver in their earlier mandate.
In his remarks, Hon. Ogbere who is the house committee chairman on mineral resources, thanked Gov. Dickson for leading the way for others in the party to follow and also for his support and encouragement, especially with his profound name for him, as a congressman.
He said he decided to embark on the project because of its importance to his people and promised to do more with the need for support from his people.
