AFENIFERE, the apex pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, has today formally announced the consolidation of her collective leadership under the stewardship of Kabiyesi Oba Oladipo Olaitan, stating that the historic transition marks a pivotal moment for the Yoruba people, serving both as a profound tribute to the monumental legacy of Pa Reuben Fasoranti and a definitive step towards absolute unity and the vigorous defense of Yoruba socio-political interests within the Nigerian pantheon.

In a release made available to media and signed by Afenifere National Publicity Secretary, Prince Justice Faloye and the Secretary General, Alade Rotimi-John, it stated that the modern history of the Yoruba people and the political evolution of Nigeria bear the indelible mark of Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

“As a patriarch of principles, Pa Fasoranti has carried the sacred torch of AFENIFERE with unyielding grace, walking firmly in the visionary strides of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Adekunle Ajasin, and Senator Abraham Adesanya.

“Through seasons of national uncertainty, he stood as a steadfast moral compass, a relentless advocate for true federalism, equity, fairness and the progressive advancement of his people. His leadership has anchored the Yoruba nation in wisdom, courage, and an unshakeable commitment to justice and fair play,” it stated.

The statement also mentioned that as the mantle of leadership shifts in consistent affirmation of AFENIFERE leadership ethos, the consolidation of this great legacy now rests upon Kabiyesi Oladipo Olaitan.

“Over the years, Oba Olaitan has demonstrated a profound sense of sincerity of purpose and the strategic capacity to champion the core interests of AFENIFERE while simultaneously promoting the greater unity of Nigeria. His track record reflects a leader who inherently understands the delicate equilibrium between popular advocacy domiciled within a Region and the greater requirement for national cohesion,” it added.
