A 39-year-old man has been arrested by the Gombe State Police Command for allegedly killing his 60-year-old sister which he accused of witchcraft.

The suspect, Abubakar Ayuba, who resides at Gangare quarters in Awak town of Kaltungo LGA of the state, was arrested by the police for a case of culpable homicide, after he allegedly killed his sister, one Yabinu Ibrahim, 60 with a stick.

A statement issued by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Obed Mary Malum, said the suspect, Ayuba was alleged to have used a stick and hit his elder sister, one Yabinu Ibrahim repeatedly which led to her death.

“The suspect used a stick and hit his sister severally and thereby killed her after he suspected her to bewitch and killed his daughter, one Adama, 25,” she said.

DSP Malum said the suspect would be charged before a court after ongoing investigation is concluded.
