The Conference of Nigerian Trade Associations (CONiTA) will hold on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the LCCI Conference & Exhibition Centre, in Ikeja, Lagos.
The Conference hopes to harness the power of trade associations, explore the potentials of great opportunities available in Nigeria; establish enabling policies that can help to foster for good governance, inclusive growth and shared prosperity for all Nigerians.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today in Lagos, Mr. Nelson Obine, Executive Director of the organisers, People, Profit, Planet Nigeria, stated that the conference is a premium think-tank of Nigeria’s foremost industry professional, industry actors and regulators as well as the academia.
The Conference is coming under the auspices of a consortium of organisations that share and believe in the Agenda 2030, as well as in the Africa Agenda 2063, including UI-Centre for Sustainable Development, Sustainability Watch Nigeria, Economywatch, with media support from News Express Nigeria.
Mr Obine noted that participation at the conference is free and he enjoined leaders of trade associations to attend enmass while opportunities for sponsorship by the private sector are still open.
He expressed optimism that Nigeria’s accent to the global goals and the Nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) risen by 1.95% (year-on-year) in real terms in the first quarter of 2018 connotes a stronger future growth and looks forward to further growth that will translate into impactful prosperity for all Nigerians, he added.
Guest Speakers expected at the conference include Mr. Babatunde Babatunde Irukera, the Director General of Consumer Protection Council; RT. Hon. (Barr.) Emmanuel Jime, Managing Director of Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority, Chief Iniobong Jackson, Technical Adviser to Africa Free Zones Association, Dr. Kayode Farinto, Vice president, Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents, Mr. Alexander Nwuba, African CEO of Palewater Advisory Group Inc and Bolanle Titilola, Researcher at the Centre for Sustainable Development.
