Cloudy skies
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Saturday 23 June 12, 2018:
NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy skies are envisaged over the northwest with chances of thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Nguru, Dutse and Potiskum Gombe, Bauchi, Kano and Katsina in the morning hours. Later in the day, prospects of thunderstorms are likely over places such as Sokoto, Kebbi, Gusau, Yelwa, Kano and Katsina. Night temperature values are expected to be in the ranges of 26 – 34oC and 21 – 24oC respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are anticipated over this region with prospect of thunderstorms over Yola, Makurdi, Mambilla plateau, Jos, Lafia and Abuja axis during the morning hours. Thunderstorms are also expected over Kaduna Ilorin and part of Niger state in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 23 – 32oC and 17 – 23oC respectively.
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning is expected over the region with the exception of Lagos, Yenagoa, Warri, Port Harcourt and Calabar that will be under the influence of rain showers. Later in the day, thunderstorms and rains are anticipated over the entire southern cities respectively. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 33oC and 20 – 24oC respectively.
