The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the Vice President, Arc. Namadi Sambo, on the death, yesterday in Abuja, of his brother, Captain Yusuf Sabo Sambo, in an auto accident.

In a Condolence Message signed by James Eze, his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Obiano described Captain Sambo’s death as a huge loss to the Vice President’s family and the nation as whole.

“Captain Sambo’s death came at a time when Nigeria needed his expertise and talent in our collective quest for national rebirth. As a retired pilot, Nigeria needed Yusuf Sambo’s knowledge of our aviation industry to solve some of the seemingly intractable problems in that sector. With his passage, we have lost one of our best hands in aviation,” Chief Obiano stated.

He assured the Sambo family that his thoughts and prayers were with them in this moment of grief and prayed that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors led by their Chairman, Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, today visited Vice President Sambo in his Abuja residence to condole him.

The delegation included Governors Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State; Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State; Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and Idris Wada of Kogi State.
