The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Tuesday, June 19, 2018:
NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning are anticipated over the region except Sokoto, Yelwa, Katsina, Maiduguri, Dutse and Yola that has chances of thunderstorms. In the afternoon, thunderstorms are expected over Kano, Gusau and its environs in afternoon/evening hours. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the ranges of 31 - 40oC and 22 - 26 oC respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: There are chances of thunderstorms over Abuja, Bauchi, Gombe, Jos, Kaduna, Lafia, Jalingo and Mambilla Plateau in the morning. Later in the day, there are prospect of thunderstorms over Abuja, Kaduna, Bauchi, Gombe, Minna, Bida, Ilorin, Makurdi, Lafia and Ibi. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 - 31 oC and 21 – 23 oC respectively except for Jos 27/20oC.
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy condition is anticipated over the inland of the region with chances of thunderstorm and rain over Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Lagos, Eket and Ikom during the morning hours. In the afternoon/evening period, thunderstorms are expected over Enugu, Abakaliki, Owerri, Onitsha, Awka, Umuahia, Akure, Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Osogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Shaki, PortHarcourt, Calabar, Eket, Obudu, Ogoja, Warri and Benin. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 - 33oC and 22 - 24 respectively.
