Okiro losses mother

Madam Bessy Mgbogo Okiro, mother of former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), now Chairman, Police Service Commission, Sir Mike Mbama Okiro, has died.

Aruga Joe Omokaro (JP), Special Adviser on Media to Okiro, said in a statement issued today in Lagos that the death occurred at 3pm yesterday in a hospital in Owerri, Imo State capital, after a brief illness.

Madam Bessy Okiro, who was aged 96, hailed from Egbema, Rivers State. She is survived by three children: Sir Mike Mbama Okiro, Susan Okiro and Mrs. Augustina Madu Nwachukwu; and many grand and great grandchildren.
