Late former Ogun SSGHoS, Deacon Poju Adeyemi
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has described the late former two-time Secretary to the State Government and Head of the State Civil Service, Deacon Poju Adeyemi, as an exemplary public servant, worthy of emulation.
The governor said this, when he paid a condolence visit to the Ibara GRA, Abeokuta, family residence of the deceased, who died yesterday at the age of 80.
Amosun, who led members of the state Executive Council, said "we are not happy that Deacon Poju Adeyemi is gone, but we thank God that he lived a fulfilled life."
Describing the late Adeyemi as a man, who loved his people deeply, Amosun stated that there is no way the history of the state will be written, without a prominent mention of his name.
The governor said Adeyemi, who served simultaneously as SSG and HoS Civil Service from January, 1992 to January 1994 and reappointed SSG from June 1999 to May, 2003, left an indelible mark and vacuum that will be difficult to fill.
Adeyemi also served as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry (1987) and Civil Service Commission (1988) prior to his appointment as SSG.
He was until his death a member of the Board of Directors of WEMABOD, a subsidiary of O’dua Group of Companies and leader of the Ogun West Elders Consultative Forum.
