The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has condemned the recent attack on the CEO of Innoson Group of companies, Chief Innocent Chukwuma as allegedly sponsored by the management of Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB).

The groupon Fridaysaid they will not allow any coercing or envious subjection on Chukwuma, saying that the court decision which declared him wanted was done in bad fate.

A statement signed by the group’s leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, MASSOB said: “The court decision declaring Chief Innocent Chukwuma wanted is unacceptable to Ndigbo. The judge must not impose the desires of enemies of economic and technological developments in Nigeria on Ndigbo.

“This charade is as a result of the acute and unrepentant jealousy against Ndigbo. The more the oppressors of Ndigbo vent their frustration and envy, the more Ndigbo are developing more technological feat.

“The likes of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company are the pride of other African countries and developing nations. Ndigbo and unbiased citizens must jealously protect Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company.”

MASSOB declared that any attack on Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company and its owner is an attack against Ndigbo, noting that it will not be tolerated.

While saying that MASSOB will not they keep silence on the face of wickedness meted out against Igbo enterprises, the group warned that they will not allow insult on Igbo manufacturers go unpunished.

Continuing, the statement reads: “The Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) and their collaborators against Ndigbo are blind to see the dangers and bad effects their action against Chief Innocent Chukwuma will bring to them.

“MASSOB is advising Ndigbo and all Biafrans to disconnect and close every banking transactions, businesses and involvement with Guarantee Trust Bank PLC as part of our civil disobedience against Nigeria state.

“MASSOB view this conscious, systematic and intimidating action of security agents as a strategic grand plan to stifle the economic prowess of Biafrans. We say no to economic and industrial monopoly in Nigeria.

“This is another open evidence of vindication of our self-determination struggle for the actualization and restoration of Biafra.

“MASSOB also wishes to remind the people of Biafra that since after the Nigeria Biafra war ended, Nigeria state have been devising both secret and open means to frustrate the business of the people of Biafra. This measure has resulted in Chief Eric Umeofia (Erisco foods) being frustrated out of Nigeria.

“Chief Cletus Ibeto (Ibeto group). He was also frustrated out of business. Dr Ifeanyi Ubah (Capital Oil and Gas), he too was always harassed using DSS and EFCC. Now, it is Chief Innocent Chukwuma (Innoson Group of Companies). Federal Government is using Guarantee Trust Bank PLC as a cover-up with the instruments of EFCC to intimidate him.

“MASSOB observed that this same system of frustrating the economic development of Igbo land is what the Federal government used in killing PRODA, Enugu, ANAMCO Enugu, EMENE STEEL MILL, Enugu, NIGERCEM, Nkalagu, Standard Poly Plastic Industry (STANPOL), Umuahia, General Cotton Mill (GCM) Onitsha etc. Now they are scheming to kill INNOSON Vehicles Manufacturing Company because he is an Igboman.

“It will be recalled that Chief Innocent Chukwuma won a legal case against Guarantee Trust Bank at the Federal High Court. The matter which was struck out by the court for falsifications and lack of merit against Guarantee Trust Bank is again being revived and backed by shameless leaders of Arewa people as well as some myopic Yoruba leaders with hypocritical and systematic support for Buhari led Federal government of Nigeria.

“This intimidating and envious attitudes of the Federal government of Nigeria against Chief Innocent Chukwuma has been the political tradition of Nigeria government to frustrate the creativity and enterprising nature of Ndigbo.”

MASSOB advised Afenifere and leaders of Yoruba land “to inform the board of Directors of Guarantee Trust Bank PLC, who are mainly the Yorubas, that any attack against Ndigbo is an attack against entire southern Nigeria.”
