Dokubo’s group gives Jonathan ultimatum to sack Alison-Madueke and Abba Moro

Niger Delta youths have given President Goodluck Jonathan 14 days’ ultimatum to sack embattled Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and her counterpart in the Ministry of Interior Affairs, Mr. Abba Moro, or be ready for a mother-of-all-protest in Abuja.

The protesting youths, under the aegis of Niger Delta People’s Salvation Front (NDPSF), took to the streets, complicating the already-aggravated usual chaotic snarl on the DSC Expressway, Effurun, Delta State, asking for the sack of the two ministers.

The demonstration was led by spokesman for repentant lord of the creeks, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, Comrade Rex Anighoro.

According to Anigoro, the Saturday protest would shift to Abuja if President Jonathan fails to sack the Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and her Interior Affairs counterpart, Mr. Abba Moro, within the 14 days.

Members of the NDPSF, who were kitted in red T-shirts with pictures of Alison-Madueke and Moro, printed in it with various banners, said President Jonathan should purge his cabinet to fish out and sack those who have brought reproach to the administration.

Anighoro stressed that Moro, by the tragic Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) recruitment exercise, proved he has no regard for the life of the Nigerian youth.

“It is a shame a nation of Nigeria’s status can’t carry out a recruitment exercise without wasting lives. It is a shame that the minister had to use stadia for such an exercise. Nigeria has betrayed its youths who shunned criminality, went to university only to come back and there are no jobs. We have concluded that Abba Moro must go.

“The minister of petroleum is absolutely corrupt, spending so much as N10 billion on chartered jets, while our mothers in the villages are unable to afford three square meals. Diezani must go. NDPSF in collaboration with youths from all parts of Delta have come to demand that these ministers should resign their appointments or be sacked by the president.

“We want to register that we support President Jonathan and we intend to stand by him, but Diezani and Moro must go. These people have given the opposition room to be lying against the President. If this is not heeded, we shall take this protest to Abuja and other places,” Anighoro stated.
