Doctors on duty
Seven people are feared dead just as several others are undergoing treatment following an outbreak of suspected Cerebral Spinal Meningitis (CSM) at Jaja village of Ganagarawa ward in Jibia Local Government area of Katsina State.
Similarly, about 104 persons have been affected with whooping cough in three villages of Unguwar Kuka, Kaishemu and Dambawa villages of Bugaje ward in the same local government.
It was gathered that among the dead are five males and two females.
Also more patients are been rushed and attended to at the Jaja village Primary Health Centre.
A source who confided in our reporter that already the Head of Administration of the council Almustapha Idris have condole with the families of the deceased and drugs are being provided the treatment of others on admission.
When contacted the state’s permanent ministry of health, Dr Kabir Mustapha said already a team of health personnel were dispatched the day we got the information saying that “we were there we took tolls of what was there and the people there have been educated and those that require medicine we are treating them already.”
On the whooping cough, Dr Musphat said the state epidemiologist shall be contacted because these are issues handled at the level of Primary Health care agency saying that it is only when they reported that actions is taken. (Daily trust)
