The Police have arrested two notorious kidnappersoperating along Abuja – Kaduna highway, who areon their wanted list.
Mukhtar Aliyu, spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, while disclosing the arrest to our reporter on Thursday evening in Kaduna, said the deadly kidnappers were in the Police Wanted List, operating within Jere/Katari axis of the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway and Jere-Kagarko Road in Kaduna State.
“Operatives of the Inspector General of Police, Intelligence Response Team attached to Operation Absolute Sanity Along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway arrested two deadly kidnappers in our wanted list and recovered two AK47 rifles with serial number 5390 and 25401 respectively, and 135 rounds of live ammunition,” he said.
He said the two suspected kidnappers namely, Adamu Lawan, 30 and Aminu Lawan 25, were on Sunday arrested with bullet wounds after a gun battle with IRT Operatives.
“They confessed to several kidnappings along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway and Jere-Kagarko Road, all in Kaduna State. Serious efforts to arrest more gang members in progress,” the spokesperson added.
