President Buhari during prayers
President Muhammadu Buhari, along with Adamawa State GovernorJibirilla Bindo and his Bauchi State counterpartMohammed Abubakar as well as five million Tijjaniyya faithfuls are expected to attend the 289th Maulud anniversary of Sheik Ahmadu Tijjani.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Secretary of Publicity sub-committee, Muhammad Jibril Sogiji.
He stated that the marking of the global event in Nigeria is the second of its kind, as the first one was held a year ago in Yola, Adamawa State.
He added that the five-day ceremony would commence with three-day long events from Wednesday to Friday.
According toSogiji, the event would begin with the opening ceremony and lectures by eminent Islamic Scholars at Command Guest House in Bauchi, and will attract Emirs, scholars and delegates from within and outside the country.
The statement quoted the Leader of Tijjaniyyah Movement, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, whose Foundation organised the international Maulud, as saying that the event was organised to honour a servant of God and the Grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani.
Sheikh Dahiru further informed that the event would showcase the light and strength of Islam.
He therefore urged security agencies, the citizens of Nigeria and neighboring states where guests will pass through on their way to the venue and on their back to their homes to be hospitable and be their brother’s keepers.
The Islamic Scholar also urged people not to panic because of the mass movement of people through their places.
He said the programme was designed to improve relationship among followers of Tijjaniyyah across the globe and immortalise the late Islamic Scholar.
“The essence of the celebration is to further cement the existing mutual relationship of the adherents of Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani all over the world, to immortalise and commemorate the legacy and teachings of the Sheikh and to pray for peaceful co-existence of the entire nation,” he added.
