Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has congratulated his Ondo State counterpart, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, on his re-election yesterday, describing it as well deserved.
Okorocha in a statement signed on his behalf by his SA Media (Print), Mr. Ebere Uzoukwa, said: “I, on behalf of my family and good people of Imo state heartily congratulate you on the well-deserved victory in the Ondo governorship poll.
“Your re-election is the dramatization of the fact that your administration had in about four years now impacted positively on the lives of the people of Ondo and that is why they did not hesitate to speak in one voice. Indeed, one good term deserves another.
“Let me urge you to remain focused and committed in the quest to take Ondo to a greater height even as I am convinced that you will definitely sustain the good work you have started in the state.
“As election had been conducted and won, I also urge you to close ranks with all stakeholders in your state to move the state forward.”
News Express reports that Mimiko, of the Labour Party, won a landslide in the Ondo governorship ballot held on Saturday, routing his main challengers, Chief Olusola Oke of the Peoples Democratic Party and Chief Rotimi Akeredolu of the Action Congress of Nigeria with 260,199 votes as against 155,961 and 143,512 respectively.
