The Abeokuta – Lagos lane of the expressway connecting Nigeria’s economic capital and the neighbouring state of Ogun has become blocked following the partial blocking of the road by faulty truck.

A News Express correspondent reports that the goods-laden truck was trying to turn at the Alakuko U-Turn in Lagos when it suddenly developed fault and could not move again after already having covered much of the road.

“The traffic has already stretched to the old toll gate in Ota, Ogun State,” our correspondent said. “There is no single traffic management personnel in sight and the go-slow may get out of hand if nothing is done urgently,” he added.

News Express reports that the same road was also blocked last Saturday morning due to repairs, trapping motorists for hours.
