Bayelsa Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson
Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, on Wednesday in Yenagoa inaugurated his former Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, as the new Commissioner for Information and Orientation.
Iworiso-Markson, a University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN)-trained consummate media practitioner and Public Relations Consultant, takes over from Hon. Jonathan Obuebite who has been reassigned to the Ministry of Education.
Shortly after taking his oath of office, Governor Dickson enjoined Iworiso-Markson to continue with the same spirit with which he served as his official spokesman.
The governor said anybody who has been part of his Restoration Administration since inception, needed no introduction to the policies and programmes of the government.
“Being my Chief Press Secretary for almost six years, you served me well and served me loyally. So you deserve this elevation. You were found worthy and fit to be part of the state executive council, which is the highest policy making organ of your state,” Dickson emphasised.
While congratulating the new Commissioner, Dickson maintained that his new assignment remained a call to higher service and expressed confidence that he will deliver.
As part of the minor cabinet reshuffle, the governor also reassigned the former Commissioner for Education, Markson Fefegha, to the newly created Ministry of Solid Minerals.
Dickson described Obuebite and Fefegha as committed members of the Restoration Government who did so well in their previous positions and equally tasked them to replicate same in their new offices.
