The law of retribution has finally caught up with a Police Officer, Amos Ishaya, who is suspected to have betrayed 10 operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS), leading to their murder during a joint operation, as hehas been apprehended by men of the same DSS.
A source who briefed News Express on the development said: “Sometime around 2013/2014, a joint operation took place in Nasarawa State which involved Police, DSS and the Army. But unknown to other security members, some of these Police Officers acted as informants to one Baba Alakio.
“Baba Alakio was a spiritual leader to some dreaded groups terrorising one remote village in Nasarawa State.”
The source further disclosed that Ishaya, a Sergeant in the Police Force, was among the traitors who informed Baba Alakio that “DSS officers were coming to arrest him in his shrine, an information that eventually led to the death of ten of our operatives in the state.”
Ishaya is currently undergoing interrogation with the Director General of the DSS, following his arrest on Tuesday (26th, September) while the operatives are still in Lafia, Nasarawa State, tracking some other suapects.
The incident occurred during the administration of Mr. Ita Ekpeyoung as the Director General of DSS, who compensated the families of the deceased.
“We have been arresting some of Baba Alakio’s boys since then,” the source further said.
