Governor Ikpeazu
A former media aide toAbia StateGovernor Okezie Ikpeazu, Mr. Ebere Uzoukwa has thrown tantrums at the Governor, describing him as a failure.
In a statement made available toNews Express, Uzoukwa suggested that Ikpeazu’s election was a regrettable mistake to his village, Umuobiakwa, Obingwa East, Obingwa Local Government Area.
He said: “Endless lamentation over his failures and retrogressive actions in office cannot make any difference either. The milk has spilled and crying over it cannot offer any solution. Therefore, we must move forward resolving to correct our mistakes in the nearest future.”
He added, however, that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the support Ikpeazu got in 2015 to become the first Ukwa Ngwa man to ascend the governorship throne of the state, emphasising that the entire calculations and political permutation with regard to the political terrain as at 2015 favoured Ngwa governorship.
The former aide also lamented: “It is, however, unfortunate that the Umuobiakwa-born university teacher has visibly proven via his actions and inaction that he is indeed the wrong person for the plum job. He has proven that he lacks sufficient capacity and willpower to change the narratives for good. He is a failure and total disappointment especially to those that invested their resources and time as well as those that activated their contacts and deployed their professionalism to ensure his victory at the polls and subsequently in the courts.
“In 2019, we cannot do anything less than retiring him democratically without resorting to sentiments back to his village. We shall vote massively a true Abian with solid and impeccable background from either Ukwa Ngwa or any other part of the state as the next Governor of Abia State.
“This God's Own State belongs to all Abians. The era of clannish politics or ‘Ngwa cause’ is completely over in our dear state. We cannot afford to return to Egypt. God forbid! In 2019, we shall be ushering in ‘Abia Cause’ wherein the most competent, acceptable, detribalised and focused candidate will be massively supported across the state to rebuild Abia. Together, we shall rediscover Abia, our darling state.”
