Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN), has directed the Federal Controllers of Works in Delta and Edo states respectively to mobilise contractors to immediately effect repairs on the bad portions of the Asaba – Onitsha Highway.

Hakeem Bello, Special Adviser on Communications to the Minister, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday morning.

“This is in order to offer immediate relief and improved travel experience to motorists using the important highway,” he said.

Media reports over the weekend, including by News Express, had exposed the deplorable state of the road and the agony of both commuters using it.
