Herdsmen
Police in Enugu State at the weekend averted what could have snowballed into a bloody clash between the Fulani herdsmen and irate youths of Ozalla in Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state.
The police in a statement signed by its spokesman, ASP Ebere Amaraizu, said one Ndubueze Oboro was farming at Umane Ngene bush when suddenly he was attacked by a suspected pastoralist and inflicted with decrees of injury at his back shoulder, in addition to losing five fingers.
It was gathered that after allegedly committing the crime, the suspect escaped just as the victim was rescued through the assistance of co villagers and was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
According to Amaraizu, however, angered the irate youths in the area who quickly moved into action of revenge in that process sighted a passer-by man identified as one Abdulraham Usman and pounced on him, allegedly inflicting several degrees of injuries on him but was promptly rescued by the operatives of the Enugu State Police Command.
While the two victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment as investigations led to the fracas have commenced in full scale.
