Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has commiserated with the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, on the death of his wife, Queen Esther Erediauwa.
Uduaghan, in a statement issued yesterday in Asaba, the Delta State capital, by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sunny Ogefere, lamented the death of the late Queen, describing it as “painful and unfortunate.”
“The passing away of your heartthrob is no doubt devastating and heartbreaking, considering the deep affection that existed between you and her over the years. The loss of a human life is always a painful experience, more so, when one's companion and confidante for decades becomes the victim,” the governor wrote.
He urged the revered monarch to take heart and be consoled by the fact that the late wife lived a fulfilled and fruitful life on earth.
He prayed God Almighty to grant the Oba, children of the late Queen and people of the Benin Kingdom the grace and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
