A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Nyerere Anyim, has condemned the Sunday church shootings by some unidentified gunmen which tragically left many dead and others injured at St. Philips Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu, Anambra State.

Dr. Anyim, in a statement issued on Tuesday, expressed sadness over the bloody massacre. He queried why innocent people, including women and children who had congregated to worship their God, could be killed in such a dastardly manner over something unknown to them.

Dr. Anyim, an Executive Commissioner, PenCom, and 2015 governorship candidate of APC in Abia State, cautioned Igbo youths living abroad against involvement in illicit ventures such as drug peddling, insisting that there are still legitimate means through which the younger ones living abroad could succeed and make progress in life.

He also charged relevant security authorities and urged them to swing into action and ensure that perpetrators of such heinous crime are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
