Osun Police Commissioner
The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Folasade Odoro has said that four suspects have been arrested over the cultists clash in Osogbo that left two persons dead at Old Garage area Orisumbare market on Saturday.
Two cultists group engaged in a fight on Friday night which led to the death of a female labourer and another yet-to-be-identified person.
Reports indicate that the woman became a victim as she was unaware of the cultists’ fight which was said to have started near Dugbe Divisional Police station.
Witnesses, who spoke to Channels Television, said that loud gunshots rented the air as another person was killed at a popular market in Idi-seke.
According to witnesses, the woman, who was said to have been killed by a stray bullet, was trying to make her way to Old Garage, where labourers usually converge every morning to seek for jobs from passerby who may need their services at their homes.
It was gathered that traders andsome suspected thugs working at the Ikirun/Ilorin Motor Park had on Friday night beat up another transporter, who was relaxing at a nearby “joint” after returning from a road trip.
The assaulted man was said to have arrived the park early on Saturday morning with his own group for a reprisal attack.
Normalcy has however returned to the area, as the cause of the clash remains unknown.
