The number of rural roads constructed by the administration of Governor Theodore Orji in parts of Abia in the last 17 months has risen to 13 following the inauguration of the nine-kilometre Amaekpu-Okagwe Ohafia rural road.
Inaugurating the road, Orji (shown in photo) said it was built at the cost of N1.1 billion and would give Ohafia people a sense of belonging.
He added that by constructing the road, he has fulfilled one of his campaign promises to the people.
The governor further promised that government soon commence the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Ohafia General Hospital.
Earlier in a welcome address, the president general, Ohafia Improvement Union, Sir Jonathan Agbai Kalu, thanked the governor for the completion of the vital road and appealed to the state government to reactivate the Ohafia General Hospital, lamenting that it was in a deplorable state.
