The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has on behalf of the Officers and Soldiers of the Nigerian Army commended the Executive Governor of Borno State, Hon. Kashim Shettima for embarking on the renovation of Nigerian Army Barracks in Bama.

According to a statement issuedon Wednesdayby the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman, the Chief of Army Staff noted with great appreciation, Governor Shettima’s consistent support for the NigerianArmy overtime.

He thanked the Governor for his unrelenting support to Operation Lafiya Dole, whichassisted in the defeat of the Boko Haram terrorists and the kind gesture of the Borno State Government in providingland for thenewly established Nigerian ArmyUniversity in the state.

“Lieutenant General Buratai regardsthe commencement ofrenovation works in Bama Barracks as timely as it would provide a more conducive environment for the troops to settle and discharge their duties of providing security for the entire Bama community and environs,” the statement read.
