The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Friday 23, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning is expected in this region with prospects of localised thunderstorms over places such as Sokoto, Kano, Gusau, Kano and Katsina. However, there are chances of localised thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Potiskum, Damaturu, Kano, Sokoto, Kebbi and Dutse in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 33℃and 20 – 23℃respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are anticipated over most parts of the region with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Abuja, Bida, Minna, Ilorin, Jos, Yola and Jalingo in the morning hours. Later in the day, prospects of localised thunderstorms likely over Lafia, Jos, Bauchi, Abuja, Lokoja, Kaduna, Jalingo and Mambila Plateau. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 28 – 31℃and 20 – 22℃respectively except Jos with 25/17oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected to prevail over the region with exception of Iseyin, Shaki, Abeokuta, Akure, Enugu, Umuahia, Lagos, Ijebu-Ode and Calabar; where isolated thunderstorms and rains are not unlikely in the morning hours. Localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Obudu, Ogoja, Awka, Owerri, Calabar, Port Harcourt and Eket in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 28 – 30℃and 21 – 23℃respectively.
