Delta State police Command Thursday paraded a notorious kidnapper, one Mr. Femando Blessing an Italian national who belongs to a kidnapping syndicate terrorising Ozoro in Isoko north local government area of the state and its environs.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim, announced that the Special Anti-kidnapping Squad stormed Warri axis and arrested a deadly kidnapping syndicate, led by one Lucky Unumeri and one Charles Ighumaye who attacked and murdered Area Commander, Ughelli ACP Ndababa Usman and late DSP German Emmanuel.
Parading the Italian kidnapper alongside other criminals with various offences, the state Commissioner of police, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim said that he was arrested at a scene where he came to collect ransom of additional sum of Fifty thousand naira (N50,000) from the victim’s relatives having robbed the victim the sum of Two hundred and fifty thousand naira.
Mr. Zanna said that operatives of the “Delta State command stormed Warri axis and effected the arrest of the aforementioned suspects.
According to him, the suspects belong to a deadly kidnapping syndicate headed by one Lucky Unumeri aka “FESBO” and one Charles Ighumaye a.k.a “AWILO”.
He added that the gangs were responsible for most kidnaps within Warri/Ughelli/Agbarho/Eku/Sapele and its environs, including the attack and murder of Area Commander Ughelli ACP Ndababa Usman and late Dsp German Emmanuel.
He said Benjamin Ambrose confessed to be the gang’s operational driver while Austin Ojegba is responsible for the sales of victim’s vehicles. (Daily Trust)
