Nigerian international John Obi Mikel sparkled like the big star he is this afternoon when he captained English Premiership giants Chelsea to an away victory that saw them through to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Mikel, who was playing his 300th game for the Blues, set up a fourth round tie against Stoke after he broke the resistance of hosts Derby County after heading home Willian’s corner shortly after the break – Oscar sealing the win with a curling effort.
Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s woes under David Moyes continued with a 1 – 2 loss to visiting Swansea.
In another shocking result, non-Premiership club Nottingham Forest humiliated West Ham 5-0, thus increasing doubts about the future of veteran manager Sam Allardyce.
