Tetfund Executive Secretary, Dr Abdullahi Baffa
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) has released over 100 billion to tertiary institutions across the country in May this year.
The Executive Secretary of the fund, Dr Abdullahi Baffa, disclosed this during an interactive session with communities of Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto shortly after commissioning the N300 million Centre for Advanced Medical Research and Training as part of Tetfund intervention in the university.
Baffa said that when they came on board there were over N200 billion funds not accessed but were able to disbursed over 50 percent to various public institutions after access cleaning.
According to him, the funds were part of their high impact intervention meant for the constructions of infrastructure, furniture and research and learning equipments.
The Executive Secretary said several scholars were sponsored either for their post graduate studies or attend various conferences within and outside Nigeria. (Daily Trust)
