Senate President Bukola Saraki in CCTs dock at the beginning of his trial
The Code of Conduct Tribunal has postponed ruling on a no case submission filed by Senate President Bukola Saraki.
The Senator had filed his motion, shortly after the defense closed its case against him in the last hearing.
The no case submission means that he is not opening a defence, and asking the tribunal to discharge him because there is no case against him.
After hearing the argument of both the defence and prosecuting teams at the trial on Thursday, Tribunal Chairman, Danladi Umar opted to reserve ruling on the matter.
He says his decision will be communicated to both parties soon.
Saraki is facing charges for false declaration of asset while he was governor of Kwara state.
He has since plead not guilty to the charges describing them as false and frivolous, adding that charges were calculated to rubbish him.
He had previously lost his appeals to stop the trial at the Federal high court, Supreme Court and Appeal court.
The charges were originally 13 but the government amended it to 18 earlier this year. (TV360 Nigeria)
