The burial of late Mrs. Christiana Obiano, mother of Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has been slated for Thursday, July 20, 2017.

Governor Obiano made the disclosure when he received some groups who paid him a condolence at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

He thanked the various groups for commiserating with him over the loss of his mother, saying that it has greatly alleviated his grief. Obiano enjoined them to relent in praying for him and his family, especially at this trying period.

In his remarks, the State Chief Judge, Justice Umeadi, described late Christiana Obiano as a woman that lived a very fulfilled life, as evident in the enviable height her children has attained in life.

On his part, the Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, said that though Mrs. Christiana Obiano died at an old age, she will be missed by many.

He prayed God to grant the Governor and the rest of the Obiano family the fortitude to bear the loss.

In their separate remarks, the South East Amalgamated Markets and Traders Association (SEAMATA) President, Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo, and Sir Norbert Obi urged the Obiano family to be consoled by the fact that God granted their mother long life.

Similarly, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has condoled Governor Obiano. Ikpeazu acknowledged that late Madam Christiana lived a good and long life worthy of emulation.

He observed that there is no greater testimony to the great life of Madam Christiana than the son, Governor Obiano, whose life work was greatly influenced by his parents.

Ikpeazu on behalf of the Government and people of Abia State, called on Obiano and the people of Anambra State to bear the passage of Madam Obiano with fortitude.
