The legal firework between Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho, a former Minister of Interior, and the Gov. Rochas Okorocha-led government in Imo State has shifted to the Court of Appeal following the adjournment of the matter by an Owerri Federal High Court.

Justice Lewis Allagoa on Monday, after counsel to Imo State Government and its officials, J. C Ibeh Esq, transmitted records of appeal challenging the jurisdiction of the court on the substantive matter, adjourned sine dine pending the determination of the appeal in the Court of Appeal.

News Express recalls that Iheanacho had sued Okorocha and some officials of his government over the demolition of his property located along Orlu road, Owerri, the capital city.

Disobedience to several orders of the court and injunctions jolted Justice Allagoa to issue a warrant of arrest on the erring government officials on March 13.

The affected officials are commissioners for Works and Transport, Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, Power and Housing.

Others are Nwaogu Chidiebere, General Manager, Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Emeka Duru, Head of Department (Works) government house and C. E. Egbuka, a Director in the ministry of Works and Transport.
