Thunderstorm
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today,Friday, May 2,2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy to partly cloudy morning is expected over the Northern state with chances of thundery activity affecting Kano, Nguru, Maiduguri and Dutse in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 44℃and 21 – 27℃respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are anticipated over most parts of the region with prospects of thunderstorms over Abuja, Lafia, Minna, Makurdi, Ibi, Jalingo and Mambilla Plateau in the morning. Later in the day, partly cloudy condition is expected. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 35℃and 22– 25℃respectively, except over Jos where 24℃and 18℃day and night temperatures are expected.
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning are expected with chances of localised rains over Akure, Osogbo, Benin, Calabar, Eket, Onitsha, Abakaliki, Enugu, Obudu, Ikom and Port Harcourt. There are chances of localised thunderstorms over Lagos, Shaki, Iseyin, Benin, Oshogbo, Warri, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Abeokuta in the afternoon/evening hours. The Day and Night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 28 – 35℃and 21 – 24℃.
