The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today,Wednesday, June 1, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: In the morning cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are expected over this region except over Sokoto and Yelwa where localised thunderstorms are anticipated. Later in the day, there are prospects of localised thunderstorms over places like Katsina, Kaduna, Dutse and Potiskum. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 36 – 44℃and 23 – 28℃respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy morning is expected over this region except over Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi, Ibi, Yola where there are prospects of localised thunderstorms. Later in the day, Abuja, Minna, Jos, Bauchi, Kaduna, Lafia, Jalingo, Makurdi, Ilorin and Lokoja have chances of localised thunderstorms. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 36℃ and 21 – 26℃respectively, except over Jos where 28℃and 20℃day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN STATES: In the morning, cloudy skies are expected over this region except over Calabar, Benin, Warri, Ikom, Owerri, Umuahia, Enugu, Awka, Abakaliki, Benin and Warri and Obudu where there are prospects of localised showers. There are chances of localised thunderstorms over Shaki, Iseyin, Benin, Oshogbo, Warri and Abeokuta in the afternoon/evening hours. The day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 31 – 34℃ and 21 – 24℃.
