Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has said that the celebration of this year’s Democracy Day in the state is unique considering the increase in the tempo of infrastructural developments.

Mr. Ukah spoke on Monday during the 2017 Thanksgiving and Praise Day at the Event Centre, Asaba, in commemoration of the ceremony and the second year anniversary of the present administration in the state. He stated that the increase in the tempo of infrastructural developments is a result of the prudent management of the available resources of the state by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Ukah stressed that the numerous projects commissioned and inspected by the governor in the six local government areas visited so far in the course of his Town Hall meetings with Deltans, are clear manifestations of the managerial ingenuity of Senator Okowa.

The commissioner said that by the time the Governor completes his Town Hall meetings, and commissioning and inspection of projects in the remaining local government areas, “Deltans, and indeed Nigerians, will be convinced that Dr. Okowa is delivering and will continue to deliver on his campaign promises.”

Mr. Ukah assured that better days are around the corner with the return of peace to the Niger Delta region that will facilitate the increase in activities in the oil sector thereby improving revenue allocation to the state.

He advised Deltans to continue to support the present administration as it is poised to deliver democratic dividends to all parts of the state, stressing that areas that have not been reached should be patient as developments must surely come to them.

The commissioner congratulated Nigerians, especially Deltans, on the occasion of this year’s celebration and prayed God to continue to strengthen democratic rule in the country.
