The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today,Thursday, May 18, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy conditions are expected over this region with chances of isolated thunderstorms anticipated to prevail over Sokoto, Kebbi and its environs during the morning hours. Later into the day, cloudiness are likely over Maiduguri, Damaturu, Nguru and its environs with prospect of isolated thunderstorms over Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Zaria, Gusau, Kebbi, Yelwa and its environ. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 34 – 42℃and 22 – 28℃respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are anticipated over the region with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Jalingo, Mambilla plateau and its environs during the morning hours. Chances of isolated thunderstorms are expected over Abuja, Minna, Kaduna, Jos, Bauchi, Gombe, Yola, Jalingo, Mambilla Plateau, Ibi, Makurdi, Lafia, Lokoja and its environ during the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32– 35℃ and 22 – 24℃respectively except Jos at 27/16℃

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudiness is likely over the region with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Ikeja, Ijebu-Ode, Warri, Yenagoa and its environs during the morning hours. However, there are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over most part of the southern cities during the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 30 – 33℃and 21– 24℃respectively.
