The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ibrahim Yusuf, has formally taken over command of the Division in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Yusuf took over from Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu,who is on posting to Depot Nigerian Army as Commandant.
Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier Sani Usman in a statement issued on Wednesday, disclosed that in a brief ceremony at the Headquarters of the Division, the new GOCwas presented with the Division flag by his predecessor after signing the handing and taking over notes at the Headquarters of the Division in Maimalari Barracks Maiduguri, Borno State.
The highlight of the occasion was the inspection of Quarter Guard where old flag was lowered and new one hosted, which signified the end and beginning of a new command.
General Yusuf hails from Yobe State. He is the 7th GOC of the Division since its formation in 2013. He is a member of 37 regular course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and also an alumnus of the National Defence College in Abuja.
Until his recent appointment, he was the Registrar of NDA.
