Thunderstorm
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today,Wednesday, May 17, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy conditions are anticipated over this region in the morning. Later in the day places like Gusau, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Yelwa, Kebbi, Southern Borno, Gombe, Bauchi and Yola have prospects of localised thunderstorms. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 36 – 39℃and 24 – 26℃respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Localised thunderstorms are likely over Minna, Bida, Mambilla Plateau, Makurdi, Jalingo, Ibi and Abuja in the morning. In the afternoon/evening hours, places like Ilorin and Lokoja may experience localised thunderstorms. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 31 – 35℃and 20 – 23℃respectively, except over Jos where 30℃and 18℃ day and night temperatures are expected.
SOUTHERN STATES: In the morning, localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Shaki, Iseyin, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Benin, Calabar and Warri. However, localised thunderstorms are expected to affect Lagos, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Umuahia, Owerri, Awka, Warri, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Eket and Uyo in the afternoon/evening hours.
