The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Monday, May 15, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected to prevail over this region with chances of localised thunderstorms around Maiduguri and Nguru axis in the morning hour while localised thunderstorms is expected during the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 35 – 42℃ and 23 – 28℃ respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected during the morning hours with chances of localised thunderstorms over cities such as Abuja, Lokoja, Jos, Makurdi and Lafia axis during the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 34℃ and 21 – 26℃ respectively except Jos with 30/18℃.
SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudiness is anticipated during the morning hours over the inland cities except Benin, Abeokuta and Akure with prospects of isolated showers also the coastal cities will equally experience isolated showers. There are prospects of localised thunderstorms over the region during the afternoon/evening period. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 31 – 34℃ and 20 – 24℃ respectively.
