The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Thursday, May 11 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy condition is expected to prevail over this region with chances of localised thunderstorms around Sokoto and Kebbi axis during the morning hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 42℃ and 21 – 28℃ respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are expected during the morning hours while there are chances of localised thunderstorms over cities such as Abuja, Kaduna, Lokoja, Makurdi, Jalingo, Mambilla, axis during the evening/night period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 35℃ and 21 – 25℃ respectively except Jos with 30/18oC.
SOUTHERN STATES: Increased cloudiness is expected with chances of localised rain showers over the coastal cities such Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Port Harcourt and Calabar during the morning hours. There are also prospects of moderate thunderstorms over the inland cities such as Akure, Ado Ekiti, Oshogbo, Ibadan Enugu, Owerri, Awka, Abakaliki, Benin and Warri. Also to be affected are Yenagoa, Calabar, Ikom and Port Harcourt during the evening/night period. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 31 – 34℃ and 20 – 25℃ respectively.
