Rivers PDP Chairman Felix Obuah
Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Bro Felix Obuah, has advised the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) “to join hands with well-meaning Nigerians and prevail on the APC-led Federal Government to return the state funds stolen by former State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, principally from the proceeds of the State Gas Turbines arbitrarily and unlawfully sold by the former Governor at the twilight of his exit.”
Obuah, who was reacting to Friday’s statement by Rivers APC, described as childish, the party’s call for the resignation of Governor Nyesom Wike for raising alarm over the millions of dollars discovered in a luxury apartment in Ikoyi Lagos, which Wike and Rivers PDP claim belongs to Amaechi.
The Rivers PDP Chairman noted that “the Presidency is already investigating the Ikoyi ‘million dollar’ saga sequel to the lid blown off the bottle and the data provided by Governor Wike.”
Bro Obuah wondered “why Amaechi’s faction of the State APC would want the facts of their principal’s ownership of the recovered loot swept under the carpet instead of joining well-meaning Nigerians to insist that the money be returned to Rivers State Government coffers for the completion of Governor Wike’s developmental projects.”
“May we remind the Amaechi’s faction of the Rivers APC that Governor Wike during a recent press conference announced to journalists that a team of lawyers were already working on the matter, insisting that the Rivers State Government will get to the root of the matter,” Obuah said.
He insisted that the $43 million found in the Ikoyi Oshorne Towers flat belongs to the Rivers State Government.
