The Nigerian Senate has called on all law enforcement agencies to look towards blocking the loopholes at the Nigerian Ports so as to increase revenue.

This was sequel to a point of order raised by a lawmaker representing Taraba South, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, during the plenaryon Thursday, on attack launched on a Community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State by armed gunmen,

Arguing further, Senator Bwacha insisted that the attackers were not herdsmen but actually insurgents and noted that the war against insurgency is not over.

In his response, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu who presided over the plenary, extended condolences to the people of Takum LGA and noted that security forces are overstretched but still need to be charged to do more as far as the issue of security is concerned.

He equally maintained that decentralisation of the Security Forces will indeed help State Governments to support the efforts of the Federal Government.

Senator Hope Uzodinma, in his response to the development, suggested that the Senate Committee on Marine Transport joins the Customs Committee to unravel the continued defrauding of the nation.
