Thunderstorm
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today,Thursday, May 4 2017:
NORTHERN STATES:Early morning localised thunderstorms are expected over Sokoto and Gusau while the rest remain partly cloudy. Later in the day, Zaria, Kano and Kaduna have chances of localised thunderstorms with the other cities being cloudy. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 37 – 43℃and 23 – 29℃respectively.
CENTRAL STATES:Cloudy morning is anticipated over the region except over Abuja, Minna, Bida and Lokoja with prospects of thunderstorms, Mambilla Plateau and Jalingo axis also have chances of localised thunderstorms. In the afternoon/evening hours, localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Jos, Abuja, Lafia, and Lokoja. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 –37℃and 22 – 28℃respectively, except over Jos where 29oC and 18oC day and night temperatures are expected.
SOUTHERN STATES:In the morning, the region is expected to be cloudy except for Ibadan, Osogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Akure and Iseyin where localised thunderstorms are anticipated. Later in the day, places like Warri, Benin, Awka, Enugu, Ado- Ekiti, Osogbo, Umuahia, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Eket and Uyo have chances localised thunderstorms. The day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 30 – 34℃and 21 – 25℃.
