Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, has raised the alarm that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) plans to invade his country home in Enugu and other apartments, under the guise of searching for looted funds.

Ekweremadu, during plenary on Wednesday, read a letter written to him by an unnamed whistle-blower, which indicated that the anti-graft agency planned to plant cash and ammunition in his apartment during the raid.

“EFCC’s objective is to force me out of office and give the impression that he I am a corrupt politician who is unfit to hold any public office,” Ekweremadu said.

He also alleged that there are plans have also been plotted by EFCC to deploy motley groups to protest against him in major cities across the country.
