The disclosure was made by the National Chairman of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), Mr. Tope Fasua, at the party’s maiden National Congress held recently in Abuja.
The new party called on Nigerians to join hands to pursue the betterment of the country.
While welcoming participants and observers to the congress, he said: “We know all of us are here to get a feel of our mindset and operations, and to understand a lot more about the vision behind ANRP.”
Fasua said the Party was nearing the last stage of its full registration as a political party, saying at this stage for most political parties, there will be less than 50 members; the prime mover and a few of his friends – usually from one area of the country or the other.”
While enjoining participants to join the party, he stated: “ANRP has, however, evolved differently as we are by far one of the most organic political projects ever in Nigeria.
“From a core idea from a few people, we promptly democratised and invited in all who believe in our core ideas.
There was a need to ensure diversity, and in no time, we have been able to reach 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
“We are nudging the 10,000 mark, which is quite symbolic. Many are joining us on a daily basis because they see our great potentials. The idea behind ANRP is our own idea, for a new generation of Nigerians to say ‘we can do this, and Nigeria can work’.
We shall be speaking about some of our core beliefs which are at variance with the status quo and what Nigeria has been used to. In view of the quick uptake of the idea called ANRP, it has become imperative to continue along democratic lines and share information.”
Ettu Mohammed, the National Director of Mobilization of the party, during the inauguration, said ‘a new National Pride is sweeping across our nation and new surge of optimism is placing impossible dream firmly within our hold and reach.”
According to him, “What we witnessed on the 22 of April, 2017 at the Yar'adua Conference Center in Abujawas a rebirth of the Nigerian Spirit which is a possibility if we join hands together to restore sanity back into our space.”
Ettu called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic coloration to join the party and save Nigerian from extinction.
He said: “Let’s join hands together and reclaim our space from those who brought us to our lowest ebb. Let us believe in the Nigerian dream once again.
“We have seen our political leader enrich themselves corruptly, we have seen them destroy every facet of Nigeria.
We must put an end to that. We can, together, reclaim our space through a bloodless revolution driven by a wheel of consciousness, laced with a perfected reorientation strategy whereby our value systems will be revamped.”
