Governor Amosun
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has commissioned an ultra-modern automobile workshop, the Mitros Digital Workshop, constructed by the state government, at the Obada-Oko mechanic village, for easy diagnosis and repair of vehicles.
Commissioning the workshop yesterday, Amosun said the project is in fulfilment of his campaign promise to ensure that all professionals in the state are able to compete favourably with their counterparts worldwide.
The governor charged the artisans to take the workshop as their property, assuring that before the year runs out, not less than three of such workshops would have been opened in different locations in the state.
According to him, the digital workshop will ensure efficient maintenance of vehicles and early detection of faults, which will help prolong the life span of vehicles on Ogun state roads.
Amosun added that the workshop is designed to be a training ground for young professionals, urging the people to ensure adequate maintenance of the facility.
He directed that henceforth all official vehicles of members of the state Executive Council and those in his convoy, are to be serviced at the automobile diagnostic workshop.
Chairman, Nigerian Automobile and Technicians Association, Ogun State chapter, Mr. Olawale Obadeyi, acknowledged the high standard of the workshop, noting that none of the artisans have seen or worked with such equipment.
While thanking the governor for the project, he revealed that the governor had already invited world class specialists to train his members on how to use the equipment.
