The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Monday, April 24, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Moderate dust haze in horizontal visibility range of 3 – 5km is expected over places such as Maiduguri, Potiskum, Nguru, Dutse, Katsina, Kano and Damaturu while partly cloudy will prevail over Sokoto, Kebbi and Gusau in the morning hours. In the afternoon, prospects of localised thundery activities are likely over Yelwa. Day and Night temperature value are expected to be in the range of 39 – 42℃ and 22 – 27℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudiness with chances of early morning isolated thunderstorms is expected over the high grounds such as Abuja, Kaduna, Bida, Minna and Lokoja in the morning hours. Later in the day, chances of localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Lafia, Abuja, Makurdi, Jos, Bauchi, Jalingo and Mambilla during the evening/night period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 36 – 40℃ and 24 – 28℃ respectively except Jos 34/19℃

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning is expected over the region with prospects of localised thunderstorms over the coastal cities such as Port Harcourt and Calabar. Isolated thunderstorms are probable over Lagos, Ijebu Ode, Yenagoa, Ikom and Warri, Akure, Ado Ekiti, Benin, Oshogbo, Enugu, Owerri, Awka, Abakaliki and Obudu during the afternoon/evening period. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 30 – 36℃ and 23 – 25℃ respectively.
