Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, have neutralised a Boko Haram Terrorist, recovered arms and ammunition from terrorist in the Lamusuri general area, Gujba local government areas of Yobe state.

Acting Military Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East), Captain Mohammed Goni, in a press statement on Tuesday, September 2, 2026, revealed the incident happened on Monday, September 1, 2026.

“At about 11:00 am on 1 September 2026, troops of 120 Task Force Battalion under Sector 2, in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), acting on credible intelligence, conducted an operation along a suspected terrorist route within the area”

“During the operation, troops sighted a group of Boko Haram terrorists moving along the identified route and engaged them. A firefight ensued, during which one terrorist was neutralised, while others fled the area with suspected gunshot wounds,” the statement reads in part.

He further added that, following the engagement, troops conducted an exploitation of the area and recovered one AK-47 rifle, 3 magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and one body pouch.

According to him, the successful operation underscores the effectiveness of sustained intelligence-led operations and the continued collaboration between troops and local security stakeholders in identifying and disrupting terrorist activities across the North East Theatre. (Channels TV)
